What`s Next?

Following our Puppy Pre-School - Operation Socialisation, our Puppy School - Behaviour Training focuses on behaviours we want to turn into life skills.

The reason we need to do this training is to start adding all the things that make it harder for a puppy in class and outside in the busy environments.

This program is tailored for you to develop and build your skills and be able to train your puppy away from the classroom, making decisions and handling different environments, giving each owner the confidence to keep going. When you learn what to do, this makes it easier to start increasing your criteria, asking a little more from your puppy when they are ready to go to the next step.

My support and instruction will set you and your puppy up for success. As puppies gain more confidence and reach adolescence, the foundations and practice we establish now will help with this stage.

Think of it as primary school. Life skills really get inground in us after tertiary education, college, university and the real world. Puppy Pre-School was Day Care!

Each puppy in class will be at a different level that is the real world. We all learn at a different pace. In these classes I teach you how to work with your individual puppy. Reaching each stage and adding what we call in-training “The three D`s:”

• Distance – can you be 6 feet away and ask your puppy to stop and not run across a road or driveway.

• Duration – how long can your puppy hold that sit or stay on their bed.

• Distractions – This is happening everywhere even in your home.

These sessions are tailored to help you work all of these situations into your training.

Each session covers a different set of challenges and topics. Such as living room and kitchen what behaviours we can teach them in these environments. Prevention of losing it when guests arrive or door dashing.

We will have two sessions outdoors in the park opposite Pet Medical.

Handouts will be provided in each session with homework to practice between classes.
