K9 Nose Work®
What is K9 Nose Work®?
K9 Nose Work® is a methodology of Training.
This is an activity for companion dogs developed by three detection dog trainers, Ron Gaunt, Amy Herot, and Jill Marie O`Brien. Teaching your dog to search and find something you want them to find, in a safe and controlled environment for fun.
For those teams that get hooked, it's also a competitive sport!
The methodology has four components:
Interiors boxes
Containers
Exteriors
Vehicles.
We start with searching for a primary object which is Food and/or Toys, building up to searching for Odour. The Odours introduced as your dog progresses are Birch, Anise and Clove.
Who can play the game?
It’s perfect for All Dogs! Puppies, young, senior, reactive dogs, dogs with disabilities and dogs rehabilitating from surgery.
The best part is that no obedience or experience is required for K9 Nose Work®.
This can be perfect to give your dog a new activity for all-weather conditions, especially our hot humid summers, or very wet winter days and anything in between!
Sessions are available now in my North Sydney training studio. Get started and introduce your dog to a fun activity, using their natural ability to sniff. Together we will build their drive to search and find things, building your relationship whilst allowing your dog to lead the game.
These sessions introduce your dog to the K9 Nose Work® methodology. We use Interiors, Boxes and Containers in a safe environment.
Investment
